Are You Addicted to Sugar? Here’s How to Break the Cycle
It’s 3 p.m., and the sugar cravings
are relentless. I’ve tried satisfying them with a handful of fresh
blueberries and some chocolate-covered espresso beans that I found in
the back of my desk drawer. But I’m still struggling not to sabotage my
withdrawal progress with a chocolate shake from In-N-Out Burger. I
fantasize about the sugar hitting my bloodstream and soothing my nerves.
Instead, I stand in my pantry brainstorming possible alternatives: A
pinch of coconut. A spoonful of raspberry jam. A swig of maple syrup.
I’m in really bad shape.
We all know about the negative effects of sugar. (The list keeps growing: Weight gain, increased blood pressure and cholesterol
levels — plus a higher risk for diabetes, cancer and heart disease.) So
like many others, I’ve forced myself to get used to drinking my iced coffee black and watch out for added sugar in my pasta sauce and yogurt. But in a quest to lose 10 pounds, I’ve pledged to go cold turkey.
12 Brilliant Meal Prep Ideas to Free Up Your Time
When it comes to healthy eating, preparation is the key to success. (Those Boy Scouts are onto something.) In fact, one study published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine suggests that spending time on preparing and cooking meals at home is linked with better dietary habits.
But if you love the convenience of prepackaged foods and restaurant
meals, it might be hard to go cold turkey on your take-out routine.
Luckily, planning and preparing your meals ahead of time will make
healthy choices a no-brainer. Instead of running to the deli for a cold
cut calorie bomb, you’ll have a home cooked feast on hand that can be
heated up faster than you can walk two blocks. (Leaving you with more
time to squeeze in your daily workout!) And hey, you’ll save money while you’re at it.
Plus, if you’re intimidated by cooking, there are tons of sneaky
tricks that can help make assembling delicious meals a cinch. From easy
breakfast options to methods for whipping up meals in bulk, we’ve got
expert tips to set yourself up for a fuss-free and healthy week. Whip
out your favorite Tupperware and get started.
1. Season meat three ways using just one pan.
If you’re sticking to lean meats like chicken, chowing down on the same flavors can get tedious after a while. Save time without boring your taste buds by preparing two or three variations of chicken at once, using aluminum foil dividers in your pan. Sriracha, BBQ, honey mustard — you can have it all. Hillary Clinton Criticized For Keeping Her Illness A Secret

suddenly left the premises. A video emerged depicting the presidential
hopeful having difficulty standing up and eventually being carried into
her van by security officers.
The Clinton campaign attributed her weakness to heat exhaustion, but
later revealed that Mrs. Clinton had been diagnosed with pneumonia on
Friday. She allegedly only told her family members and top aides about
the diagnosis, thinking that it would distract voters from more
important issues.

John Obi Mikel & Kelechi Iheanacho emerge as Super Eagle's Coach 'Gernot Rohr's difference makers
The new Super Eagles boss got off to a winning start
in Uyo, and would do well to build the national team around his captain
and Manchester City's precocious hotshot
The larger significance of Gernot Rohr
’s first game in charge lay not in what transpired within it, but in
what appeared to be churning underneath-the sense of underlying
mechanics. It was a luxury not afforded to either of Sunday Oliseh or
Samson Siasia, both of whom were thrust into the deep end straightaway.
Neither negotiated the choppy waters of qualifying particularly
artfully.
Their inefficiencies may have rendered this game a dead rubber, but
within a wider context, the visit of Tanzania was pregnant with meaning
World Cup qualifying begins in October with a visit to Zambia who,
like the Super Eagles, have floundered somewhat since an unlikely
victory at the Africa Cup of Nations a few years ago.
